Penguin glasses? Yes please.
I’m not going to lie, I have an Ikea problem. I really like Ikea, I like that their stuff is cheap mostly I think. But I really truly thought I had struck the jackpot when I ran into these beauties :

I mean, they have elephants, and mushrooms, and penguins, and flowers, and bugs, and are just all around awesome. Oh and they only cost me $6/6, but they were on sale then and they’re still only $9.00 at regular prices.
They can be found on the Ikea site here :
Why am I writing about my water glasses you ask? Because I like them that much.

Watch out Vulcan
I once again have failed myself and fallen behind on my posts. Don’t worry I can assure you I’ve already given myself a mental beating. And for those ten of you who read my blog on a consist basis, I’m sorry and I love you.
Anyways, on with the good stuff.
A few weekends ago I wasn’t feeling so great and was in a BLAH mood. So me and Mr. Stebe hopped into the car with the intention of going out to find sticks so I could build a lattice for my pea’s to grow (more on this later
) Needless to say, we never found any sticks because we magically found outselves driving out across the prairie towards the little town of Vulcan.
Now Vulcan is a little town situated exactly in Middle of Nowhere, Alberta, and as you can tell it has a somewhat famous name. Vulcan is the center stage for a yearly Trekkie event called Spock Days, and we just so happened to decide to take our drive on the weekend that it was occuring. Sadly by the time we arrived in the late afternoon on Sunday most of the hardcore fan’s had left. Highly disappointing, I know. We did some quick running around and took some photo’s of the landmarks, sadly no one dressed in full on costume was around so it’s just us and our geeky mugs. In fairness though there was some guy in the tourist information center – which is really neat by the way – with a lizard sitting on his shoulder like it was perfectly normal to bring your lizard to the trekkie convention and walk around with it. That’s cool though, whatever floats his boat. I wonder if he thought it was like his little alien or something though? Lord only knows.
On with the geekiry

Captain Jean Luc-Picard of the USS Enterprise is all I can hear in my head, ala : http://picard.ytmnd.com/

There were plaques in each language underneath the Ship, Vulcan looks pretty but I bet you’d get one bitch of a hand cramp writing it.

Vrrrrooooooooom.

I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of how awesome I am. And yes, that is the ever so charming Brit that lives in my house, aka Stebe.

I only know who one of these people are, I fail at Trekkie.
On a side note, this year the little itty bitty town of Vulcan petitioned to have the priemier of the new Star Trek in their town, and they almost got it with the help of some very important people. More info here :

Popcorn Clouds
I have a deep running affection for clouds. I don’t know why or how it all started; It just kind of did. When I was in highschool I took a lot of art classes, and boy did I churn out the cloud paintings. It’s never really ever seemed to have worn off; I’ve never really stopped loving them intensely, or continuously being fascinated by them. When my Papa used to drive me to work in the city I’d always talk about the clouds in the car, it’s something he mentions to me every now and then and still brings up warm memories.
I really love the simplistic beauty of them just floating around up there above us. They come in so many different shapes and forms and sizes. Different colours, textures, short ones, fat ones, ones that go on forever, ones that arch and signal the coming of warmer air, I could go on and on and on and on like the freaking Bubba of clouds. And as much as they’re pretty to look at I love that they bring rain and snow; maybe not so much the snow, but I LOVE the rain. The beautiful smell of a fresh clean earth combined with how the rain just seems to make everything look a little more beautiful.
<3 Clouds.

Soooo stunning, and I hate pink.

Light beam’s. So pretty.

I love this one, it’s like the little rogue cloud. NON-CONFORMIST CLOUD. He refuses to go with the flow and partake in the larger bully clouds storminess.

I love how they frame the mountains too.

Why hello there big pretty fellow! He just passed through, didn’t so much as drop a splatter of rain.

Seriously though, stop, look up every now and then, and appreciate some of the beauty thats around us every day. And think of me while you do it <3 .

Garden Update!
Just a quick update on my little green childern :
My tomato plant is working hard to be the best tomato plant ever. Look at them all! Help me Rhonda, I’m going to have to give some away.

And those itty bitty, sad, pathetic excuses for pea plants?

Look at the little viney feeler things! All wound up into a spiral. SO NEAT.

My Momma also bought me a huge tomato plant, and I did plan to introduce him to the world but the picture came out blurry, I dont know how I manage to blur a picture of a plant, but I did. I don’t want to talk about it anymore.
Peace <3
